Batistuta was quite good at football

It seems like my youth was entirely the following: wake up on a Saturday morning and watch Batistuta score an amazing volley; have an omlette; watch Scott Gemmill and Mark Pembridge in midfield for Everton; get taken to church by my nan; go home and watch Scott Gemmill and Mark Pembridge on MOTD.

Football italiaon CH4 was my all time favourite period for Footy. Loved it more than the premier league.
Those were the days! Loved it when it was tipping down and every single Italian in the crowd had a waterproof poncho on and my dad was like 'wouldn't get that at Goodison, real men there'.

Such a shame how the Italian league has faltered recently, looks much better this year though!

Absolute world class. The complete striker - good in the air, decent pace, impeccable first touch and one of the best finishers of a ball the game has ever seen.

Would have graced any era.

Great player, in addition to the goals and the hair will always remember him being involved in one of the absolute worst decisions ever seen in European football (from 1:39:30 onwards).

No prizes for guessing who the opponents were:
