Watching the Basle vs. Spurs europa league game got me thinking about seasons past when Everton graced the competition. In particular the Everton vs. Bate game came to mind because we played a team mostly full of our bright young prospects. This set me wondering what happened to them?

01 Nash - worst keeper ever. No surprise he shuffled off to warm a bench elsewhere....
02 Hibbert (Shkodran Mustafi 76) - Hibbo is still with us. Mustafi is with Sampdoria, not sure how well he is doing though?
31 Coleman - first choice right back this season and has come on leaps and bounds
34 Shane Duffy - still loitering around the edge of the squad but questions remain wether he is up to it...
36 Bidwell - out on loan at Brentford still I believe. doing ok?
21 Osman (Craig 81) - Ossie is still with us dividing opinion. No idea abot his replacement.
26 Rodwell (Akpan 8) - Rodwell went off injured and this is most apt as it sums up his career! At city, on the treatment table. Good bit of business...
29 Forshaw - shipped off to Brentford, seemingly deemed not good enough. Is he doing anything to prove otherwise?
22 Yakubu - Gettinng fatter in China via the Blackburn circus.
35 Agard - doing not a lot at Rotheram Utd....
37 Baxter - lighting up league one with Oldham....

Not many have gone on to bigger and better things.

Mustafi has started a few games in 352 formation for Sampdoria, looked quite decent against Inter Milan the other day

It's a shame we didn't batter them that night, then we could say they were 'masturs' of their own downfall.

Went to that Bate game. It is still the dullest game I've ever been to.

Same, can't remember what came over me to go. Not much happened at all, may as well of gone to a reserve game and would of seen more. Just a quick question, is the Under 21's league the same as just reserve games at that point? Don't remember it being called the under 21's aha.

........we shouldn't be surprised. The divide between success and failure as a footballer can often be as thin as a rizzla paper. I always feel, however, that if youngsters are of top quality they force their way in (Rooney) and if they are not they remain on the perphary and find a level elsewhere.
