Who would you rather start?

The choice is would I rather get a punch in the face or a kick in the balls. Play anyone else up front.

Not writing off Barry yet but he needs time, lots of it.
Beto is going to cost us many points this season.
I don’t disagree, but just to be awkward, Barry needs time doing what? Training at Finch Farm? Doing rondos and those games on a tiny pitch. First time finishes with some of those yellow pretend men in the way. He’ll have been doing that since he was about 8 years old, 5 days a week.

Get the derby out of the way and let Beto charge around, and assuming he doesn’t score, play Barry every game until it’s proved if he is categorically crap or not. Him struggling is no different than Beto missing sitters on the scoreline, but at least he gets the experience we keep saying he hasn’t got. We can’t keep buying young players, hiding them, then loaning them out or waiting till they pick up bizarre ear ligament injury in training.

In terms of apparent disinterest, he is cursed by his languid gait, but he should do much more hard running to get involved. And it must be remembered neither goal against Brighton happen if he had Beto’s first touch.

Barry isn't really inexperienced in terms of just time on the pitch in general, he's played well over 100 senior games and is nearly 23 so he's not a wet behind the ears kid. He needs to settle in and get used to a new country, a new league, and new team mates and manager but he's not still learning how to play football. As always though, the first team isn't a talent show where we just put someone out there so you can decide whether you like them or not; deciding whether he's 'categorically crap or not' (you'd hope not given what we've just invested in him) will be done by the coaches and manager who work with him every day not by us demanding he gets 5 games in a row and giving him a thumbs up or thumbs down.

Do people forget that Beto scored in two games this season already? (one pl game) he can be a frustrating figure on the pitch at times especially when his focus wanes and starts getting sloppy with his touches on the ball , but he's not horrible hes just not consistent enough if we have eventual ambitions to go beyond a top half finish. For me since Barry is still adapting , who starts is dependent on our approach in a game I'd rather have Beto starting if we're aiming for a counter attack as he can run the channels very well and physically bully opponents. Barry is very good in the air , can carry and pass the ball nicely haven't seen him take a lot of shots yet but I think he's better off starting when we're trying to bang on crosses or play it in with possession.

On these two lads I would actually like to speak to the people who actually thought they would be good buys. For instance beto is basically crap, and we spend 30m on someone who isn't as good.

He won’t just cost us points through missed chances. The number of times he loses control and possession, just as we’re moving forward in support, will cost us goals against.

For me he's our very own version of Dr Jeckyl & Mr Hyde. You never know which one is going to show up for a game. Can be shocking, can be unplayable. I'm still convinced he has a role to play this season, but also a position we definitely should look to upgrade on in the future. Hope Barry will turn out good in the end.

From what I've seen, their games seem very similar. Barry might have a bit more about him with the ball at his feet but at this stage I think Beto is probably the better one to lead the line.
