Player Valuation: £8m
Is it a good enough partnership and is it working for the team?

Personally I like both players. They've both been excellent, but both seem to be sitters in the sense that they don't create much or score too many. I feel as though this is having a negative effect going forward especially in the last couple of games.

It's the likes of Mirallas and Pienaar who have been letting the team down over recent weeks, Barry and McCarthy have been doing alright.

You are right though, having two players in the midfield who don't score/create much isn't the best scenario. Long term it needs to be improved.

Its up to the likes of our attacking wingers, and an our striker and the attacking midfielder, their job is to break the play and defend, James will deffo learn to run forward with the ball and help in attack

If he's going to be a real success for us he needs to add goals and assists in the final third. He's a good player, no reason why he can't.

I think you need to re-think the role hes meant to be performing.

A lot of people are still stuck in the 4-4-2 system which had a 6 and 8 in the middle.

I remember an interview our assistant manger (forget his name) did just after we signed McCarhty. He said he's got the quality to be moved up, I'd wager our long term plan is to probably have him and Barkley playing with creative freedom in a 4-3-3 once we get a more long term holding mid.

Its not their job to score or start attacks, its their job to break down attacks and give it to the wide players or the number 10.
But it leaves us overly reliant on the Barkleys, Pienaars Lukakus and Mirrallas and allows teams to mark them out of the game. We have been bereft of chance creation compared to what we are used to. We require an additional threat in the middle to play alongside either McCarthy or Barry I think. Barry doesn't commit men and it leaves less space for the attacking players.

Possibly, ive said in the past I would imagine Bobby will look to pick up a natural number 8 in the next window.

Somebody Belgian, taps nose.

We have six attacking players in our outfield 10, that should be plenty to score goals.
