Can we play Stones and Holgate up front? Not that I want them to score but more that I want RM to focus us on the league. Fans and Supporters talk about every cup meaning something - well - it doesnt. We need to finish as high as possible in the league year on year because thats where the moolah is. Stuff the league cup and getting kicked off the park by the 8 feet tall Chelsea under 19s. You get what you pay for and we need to take care of our bread n butter.

So what happens if we finish 5th besides money? We go into Europe. Same as if we won this cup. I've never seen Everton win silverware. I think it's time.

What a depressing view of football as a whole.

Exactly mate. I remember the same crap about being sprouted about when we were in EL, "we should blow off our euro games because it hurts us in the league" when we're aiming to get Europe that way too. Get in Europe and try to win trophies, we're not winning the prem anytime soon

Respect your view there mate, but I suspect you're in the tiny minority of Evertonians with an opinion of that nature.

I'd wager that the vast, vast majority would rather we won something and finished 10th than won nothing and finished 5th, if it were a straight choice between those exact 2 scenarios.

Canny tie for yous lads I've been to Barnsley 3 times now and every time we've taken 7,000 fans and won there lol. Watch yourselves though some of the locals are green street wannabes a proper odd bunch
Our Cup quarter final in 89 was proof of that. It was utter bedlam after the match, I remember some bad grock in a white vest and wielding a wooden coat hanger of all things.

Plenty of our fans moan when we are viewed as a small club but they are contributing to that scenario with talk of just finishing as high up the league as possible to earn more money. That's small club mentality!
We are Everton, a great club and one that should be competing for EVERY single trophy possible.
Our great and successful history is not built on the amount of money we have won, it's based on the TROPHIES we have won.
I say we should put out our best team for every game and try win them all, regardless of the opposition.
It has been too long without success and those fans that are happy to continue this trophy drought are everything that is wrong with modern football in my eyes.
Success is based on silverware, not cash.
