Barkley to Chelsea

Nobody should be surprised as any player in our team worth in excess of £10m+ we will sell because the bank are banging on the door for their money and whether you like it or not, WE ARE a selling club
 
I hate to even comment on this as it gives recognition to a crap rumor, but if Ross "The Boss" Barkley leaves in January I will sh*t kittens. It will probably result in my banning because of the epic meltdown that will play out over this board. I am afraid my Three Mile Island re-enactment that would occur if a sale came to pass would make a Lineker85/86 meltdown look like a pleasant conversation over a cup of coffee. Just had to get that out there as a public service. I think I might make D/D's profanity filter malfunction. This one just has the "Straw that breaks the Camel's back" feel to it. Hope I am wrong. Sorry for the outburst.

Breaks my heart to hear u say that. Cause it makes it true. Did you hear that we mortgaged out Premier League TV money for the next two seasons? What do you think would happen to the club if the worst happened and we didn't have that money coming in. I know that the club is more important than the player and it is the crest on the front not the name on the back that matters. It just takes it out of you to see people go and I have only been following the club for two years so I hardly have room to talk. I just don't want to see a player, who could maybe be key to breaking the vicious cycle of selling to survive by bringing us the long overdue success needed, to be sold and the cycle continue anew. It has already happened once. Always love to hear your input AB, and greatly appreciate all the match reports and info you provide on the reserves and U-18's. Top work.

Only a mere Three Mile Island? The board will turn into Chernobyl if this happens anyway.

Until then, I'm not giving any creedence to such rumours.
 

Lazy rumour in my opinion. The journo describes us as 'struggling'...7th in the league, game in hand and 3pts off top 4 suggests otherwise. Had he said 'financially struggling' then I'd find it hard to disagree but he's a professional and said Moyes has left him out despite us struggling.

The journos story basically revolves around Chelsea wanting to buy young talent. Ross Barkley is young talent so the journo linked him. It's rubbish. I'm sure Chelski do have a file on him though just as I'm sure Man Utd and Man City do etc. Just as I'd like to think we have files on certain players we won't be signing simply because that's part and parcel of the scouting system.

File this one under 2+2=5.

For the record, next one out the door I believe will be Fellaini. Sadly :(
 
I wish teams would F-off stealing our players. Haven't they got their own youngsters. If Barkley goes to chelsea he'd be a wasted talent, might get the odd game and then just a bench warmer for years. I know he wont stay he forever but at least he'll get games here, maybe become a huge player in a few years, then maybe he can go, will be worth more then too if he does.
Sucks either way but he should stay.

He will be linked with a lot more if he carries on too, just ignore it.
 
It is damn lazy journalism, based on the very tenuous coincidence that Chelsea have just poached our former chief scout Mick Doherty. 2+2 does indeed = 5.
