Might get ripped for this but Def Leppard. Used to think they were cheesy mainly because of their looks and attitude but some of their songs are excellent, great driving music

Slightly different vibe, but Bring Me The Horizon. God, they were awful, but Oli Sykes got his life sorted out by the seems of things, and Sempiternal was an awesome album.

It's not that I thought they were bad its that I didn't pay attention until a certain song hits me and I ask "who sings this?" I didn't know much about the arctic monkeys until I heard "crawling back to you" then I gave them a bit more time. I may buy their album

I had a total blind spot for Nick Cave, then I bought a 'best of' one day on the cheap and loved it from start to finish, I've been devouring his back catalogue for about 4 years now
