Nah no chance. I still enjoy the occasional social smoke when out for a days drinking.

May aswell ban fast food and alcohol while we're at it. Supposed the only argument to be made would be risk of second-hand smoke which you can't get from food or booze - so maybe designated smoking areas are a little more of a realistic option rather than banning altogether.

Hate it. Mum smokes a lot and gets on my nerve. The most disgusting thing in the world, the smell the air the everything.

Slight overreaction. I mean it's obviously not the MOST disgusting thing in the world is it?

I think this is the problem with a lot of smokers vs anti smokers. It can still be viewed as bad without the hyperbole.

care to explain what you mean by that
Yes. That if you get so bothered about what other people do with their bodies you might also share other such Tory traits as getting a sweat on when you see a brown person on public transportation.

I didn’t call you a racist. I simply asked if you shared other sentiments shared by those that think they have the right to lord over what others do. Sorry if this has been an unpleasant realisation that you share moral similarities with a band of people often reviled on the internet.

There’s also a certain irony that you call me a divvy and act the big man whilst implying that I am only doing so because I’m behind a keyboard. How droll.

Seeing how prohibition was so darn effective, I'm sure a ban on smoking would be similar.

But anyways, if people want to smoke in their house or outside, that's fine by me--I'd prefer not to be around it, however. I'm also happy that many restaurants/bars have banned smoking for the sake of their employee's safety.

Even though I never smoked, there are occasions when I miss the smell of a smoky bar (not often, but sometimes I do).

Yeah deffo, some places suited it, some didn't. A lot of places lost their charm as they became quite sterile.

That said I have zero problems with not being allowed to smoke inside, it's actually a nice way to escape for a bit on a night out etc and most places have provided decent facilities for it.

Side note: It fills me with joy to see the word divvy being used for the first time in about 30 years.
