Baines taking corners

Just cannot understand what is up with him. Is he trying to be too clever and curl the ball to a head? Far better to make sure it is decently lofted.

Hate it when we get a corner these days. You would of thought considering that all the corners we have end up at the front post someone would stand there

Awful delivery again today. His set pieces have been terrible ( not counting when he has a chance to shoot on goal ).
It's not that hard to let the ball over the front defender so it must be assumed that this is where we want the ball played for some reason?
We wouldn't it getting to our tall players attacking the ball :)

Hes got no excuse for his poor set pieces, hes got a wand of a left foot so why does he always hit the first man. We need him to take them like garbutt, his are boss

Considering he's the deadball specialist, his corners are very Arteta.

It's very disappointing that two of our best players of the last 10 years have badly affected our corner-threat. Back when Arteta was stinking them to the first defender we were all clamouring for Baines to take them, but now his are just as bad.

It's odd that we so often fail at such a simple task.

Just on a side-note: you should never automatically trust the opinion of a mainstream football writer, check this out from the Guardian's MBM:

89 min: An Everton corner now. Baines’ corner is uncharacteristically poor, and barely clears the near post.

It's like he's assuming Baines's corners must be good as he sometimes hits a wicked free-kick.

We should just go short every time, play it round the D, as a one-goal-per-season return from long corners is not worth the counter-attacking risk when the opposition heads the ball away.

I have no idea who to have take corners if not for Baines. Mirallas is injured. Everyone is WOEFUL. Why not just hit it short and start over. Martinez obviously doesnt think corners are worth even practicing, so lets start play from scratch again.
