I wonder what the odds are of him playing Saturday and scoring the winner against Wigan? I smell a bet looming.
I will bet you 1000 V points that he doesnt even play. Wigan would have a gentlemans agreement that he wont play and they will use the hamstring strain as an excuse. Gonna bet me?

It's not like Everton to give it up on the first date is it? How many weeks of wooing and courting and snogging behind the wigan pie shop before he signed on - or is it just me obsessively reading reports of the situation everyday for 6 weeks.
Still. top quality signing. He even refused (no doubt extra 30k a week) the stupid wages of the Geordie Mercenaries FC, because hopefully he wants to have a career and not retire in front of a bunch of [Poor language removed] newcastle supporters, jogging round St James Park thinking where he'll spend the extra money you get simply for putting a stripey shirt on and managing to finish midtable.
hopefully this muscle strain he's got is not going to keep him out too long.
I remember the bad old days when every new signing we bought was seemingly injured.
