Stoke City boss Gary Rowett has dismissed reports claiming Ashley Williams was a makeweight for Badou Ndiaye’s move to Everton.

The Wales captain joined Stoke on a season-long loan earlier this week but persistent reports this summer have tipped the Toffees to move for Idrissa Gana Gueye’s Senegalese midfield partner.

When asked about losing Ndiaye to Everton, however, Rowett replied: “All the speculation was there, but for me that was never anything that’s been mooted to me at all.

“You would presume that while you are talking about one player, the other player would come up. That was a stand alone deal, nothing to do with speculation about our other players.”

As an aside, Neil Warnock has just done an interview post losing to Real Betis in their last match and he said that he contacted Stoke regarding Badou but the package the player wanted was too much for Cardiff.

Can he keep the ball for longer than 5 secs? Does he break sweat? Does he attempt blocks? Does he chase back? If so sign him up as he'd be more effective then Schneiderfraud.
