Whats the worst medical procedure you've ever had done. The worst i've had was having my nose packed, In February I had a nose bleed caused through high blood pressure, the bleeding wouldn't stop, so they proceeded to insert about a 2 inch long tampon into each nostril very slowly, the pain was excruciating.Unfortunately the extraction was even more horrendous, as the blood had dried on the packing. The bleeding then started again in earnest, which started clotting in my throat making me choke on the clots. Again they packed my nose, but this time one of them must have twisted, and started to poke the underside of my Eyeball for the next 36 hours. Oh the relief when they were taken out and I was allowed home.

After I broke my hip, I had a compressed tub with a tube fitted into my leg to "suck" any internal bleeding up I believe, it was about 11" long, after being in bed for about 4 days they pulled it out, literally like a clothes line.

I shat myself.

Fracturing my pelvis. And the junior doctor coming in, not looking at the chart and trying to rotate my legs outwards to examine the area.

My bloodcurdling scream made a nurse drop a tray.

I hope the wee prick dropped out and is working in McDonalds now.

Glandular fever when I was younger. Collapsing every five minutes like a big tart. Embarrassing.

Ive got two-

The first was when I was 15 I had an operation on my head and they had to staple my head together. When it came to take them out they didnt give me any anaesthetic so they were literally pulling pieces of metal out of my head with another piece of metal. Nice.

The other was when I was playing football and turned- no tackle no one near me and as I turned I looked down my leg as my ankle came out of its joint and the weight shifting on my leg meant it snapped. The bone tried to come out of my elg so my sock went a weird shape as the bone tried to come out- luckily it didnt.

They put a plate in my ankle and I had a cast on for 8 weeks. When it came to take the plate out they had to cut around the screws to then wind them out. This time they did use anaesthetic but not enough, they cut too deep and I felt it scrape the bone and literally cut deep in my ankle with no protection from anaesthetic. I screamed like a tortured soul.

Having an injection directly into my right eyeball. About six doctors/nurses had to hold me down. If I had moved my eye it would have sliced in two. Stomach churns even thinking about it.

Lao lid lad lerd

You win at ouch.

Catheter fit, was horrendous, and with it in it felt like the universe wanted to drop out of me.
Had to have an op on my nose because the sinus wasnt draining and was causing infections and breathing difficulties - it meant for two weeks having to chug back saline into my nasal cavity to help the surgery heal, so the daily clotted blood that id either work out of my shnozz or work up out of my lungs was big black chunks the size of nectarines.

Oh my God I think you are the winner or the loser, almost sorry I started the thread now.

I got a particle of Sofnalime in my eye when I was packing canisters for the ASDS (Advanced SEAL Delivery System). It is a chemical that absorbs CO2. It also is moisture activated, so you can handle it with no burns. Get it wet and it SIZZLES!!! Anyway, particle on an eyeball. Which is wet, chemical burn on my right eyeball. YAY!!! Happened on the night watch, so I ended up at the ER at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii, ALL NIGHT. Good fun.

Oh, and it hurt a wee bit too.
