Shameless Wool
Alright, lids?

It's great to have the chance to get back on here again after what has been a bad few weeks. I've not been around for a while as a result and it has been a shame that I haven't had chance to keep in contact with people.

Not that most of you were probably pleased for the break from me!!

Anyway. It's been a bit rough. The bairn had a really severe bout of flu after an injection and that hit her for six. She hardly slept and we slept for less than two hours most nights for a fortnight.

My wife has been threatened with redundancy at her place of work and the axe is still hanging over her as we speak. We've had to create some emergency funds from a few places and it's likely that we'll be okay for now, but that has obviously caused some considerable stress in the house.

To top off the last few weeks, we all finally had ther chance to sleep soundly and someone broke into the car, stole the radio, took the bairns toys and clothes and left glass strewn across her car seat. I wasn't going to risk her being in that car seat again, so we bought her a new one and paid for the repairs to be made to the car. A few nights later, I looked out of the window to see a little scumbag peering in through the car window of a neighbour at around 2am with a metal rod in his hand. I went outside and introduced myself and gave him a friendly tap on the head like.

Cue a charge of 'assault' that he tried to pin on me for about four days before he dropped the charges when it was proven that he had previous convictions for car theft and the likelihood of me being convicted was non-existent due to the context of the incident.

I was still suspended from school and told I could lose my job though, but that has now been resolved.

All in all, that was some fortnight...

fkn L mate, been in the wars there haven't ya?

It's no worse than some people I suppose.

At the end of the day, the wife and bairn are safe and we've all got our health. That's how I am looking at it.

Work were totally happy that I took the right course of action and have told me that their suspension of me was theoretically to fulfil legal requirements in such circumstances...all by the book.

Christ mate, sounds tough that. Cars can be fixed and new jobs found but it's a bugger when your kids are sick. Hope she's OK now.

Dangerous in that North East, lad. I keep telling you.

In all seriousness, though, I'm glad you're seeing some sense prevailing in all this madness. Best wishes to you and the lasses.
