Was talking to a couple of lads in work about this. Would you like to see B teams be created over here instead of them playing in U21 league?
If not explain why!

As long as they didnt play in the football league, wouldnt mind either way.

Would be good for them though lid to get experience playing the likes of Peterborough and that. I just used PBoro as an example. Playing for promotion and relegation is better than just sitting in an U21 league and playing each team once

Yeah, but they would take the place of some other established club. There is life beyond the Premier League. If they started off in the very lowest and worked up, then fair enough. But what would happen if we drew Everton B in the cup?

For the clubs that have them in 'Murrica, as far as I know it's possible for an MLS club to draw their own reserve team (which usually play in the 4th level on the pyramid) in the US Open Cup. It has never happened, but possible. Normally the MLS reserve/U23 teams get booted by the NASL and USL Pro (2nd and 3rd level) professional teams, if they ever even make it that far.

But there is no promotion and relegation in the American pyramid, so it's impossible for the Sounders FC U23 and the real Sounders to ever end up in the same league.

And I guess it depends. The extreme of this kind of feeder club setup is how the MLBdoes it, where one club will have 4 or 5 different feeder clubs spread out in small towns across the country. Are there a lot of financially struggling lower tier English sides? Would it be worth 'saving' them by setting up a feeder system?

And I say 'saving' in that at the very least the supporters of those smaller clubs in small towns would at least still have the cultural value of sport.

Isn't that sort of what it already is, in all but name?

Spain is the best mate. They are basically playing in the Championship over there. Real Madrid B can't get promoted if Real Madrid are in LIGA BBVA, IF Real Madrid do get relegated then the B team will get relegated to basically league 1.

It gives them the chance playing against decent players, going to grounds instead of just playing at Finch Farm or Melwood.

Its not like Barca B and Madrid B dominate the league aswell, they struggle as far as I am aware as the likes of Elche won the league.

To me, that seems like it's really quite unfair on other lower league clubs. The concession of not competing in the same league or not dominating isn't fair in my eyes - they're still taking up a place of a real club.

I'd rather have B teams and produce good youngsters rather than have Walsall in the league. If they start from the bottom, I think its a great idea and fair as they will just be the better team.

I don't know how true this is as I'm just taking this info from Football Manager! YES I KNOW! Anyway, in Brasil the premierleague over there is split into two sections. The first part of your season you play teams who are quite local to you (they are poor teams so I think it would be like Tranmere maybe lower I'm not sure) which gives you the chance to play the youngsters which they do.

Your second part of the season is where you will play your main team vs the likes of Santos, Sao Paulo, Corinthians.
