Personally i think the away fans should be moved to the Top Balcony. It holds 4000 or there abouts so would cater for there needs as most only bring 1800 with them.

Also i believe we would sell more tickets then as some of the upper bullens and paddock seats for the aways are quite good seats. I also like the idea of the away fans being in the gods and out of the way.

What are your views? My dad seems to think they used to have away fans up there but i cant remember it being so.

I only remember Bayern Munich being 'shoved up there' and Wolves in a cup game when Steve Bull played for them, I was up there for that one and Keown floored Bull with an Elbow in front of the old away end, the ones that were in about 1/2 of the top Balcony were going a little too crazy for up there

The away fans used to be in what is now the park end didn't they ?

A few filled it as well mate, both tiers, but some never brought any at all.. just a handfull of lads standing underneath the scoreboard..
I always remember Chelsea bringing loads as a lad.. singing ' one man went to mow..' for what seemed like the whole game !

yes ,not many filled it, then it got sectioned off, most of the time it was home to more everton yobs than away fans, who ran the gauntlet of the half time piss run, with hundreds underneath waiting for them, they are better off were they are its near to the coaches and less chance of a kick off if either fans are up for trouble

I think it was Chelsea that someone fired a distress flare at ? That terrace looked an awful spec when full.

wasnt to bad a speck, half way up just to the side of the goal, underneath the upper stand was a decent speck.
they had flares home and away that season and one other, the stamford bridge flare was smuggled in , inside a hot dog, the home game the fans were throwing a golf ball back and forth between the parkend and the enclosure, it went on for about two or three minutes each side cheering when someone caught it, till it was evertons turn to return it, which they did followed by a bottle to the catchers head, that was the end of playtime. ps end of stories from me,be here all night

the enclosure was a hairy place in that corner.

Night games always had 'an edge' to the atmosphere.. Goodison under the lights is still a magical place..
The walk across Stanley Park.. Great memories lads..
A packed away end always added to the occasion.. I miss it in a way, and still find it a little odd that away fans are up in the gods miles away ( or so it seems to me ) although I totally understand the reason for doing so..
