This is a good rule, generally speaking, but I break it by letter1 if not by law2

1 I have never applied nor attended any Master's Degree program, although I have two undergraduate degrees, even if one is more vocational skill than academic pursuit
2 to be fair, i have worked in research and been published in academic literature, and my wife is an academic by training
