so, QF9 is less than an hour away from take off for a direct flight from Perth to London. Flight time is 17 hours 20 minutes.
I think I would still prefer to go via singapore or dubai than be on one plane for that long
changi is sound, but hate dubai with a passion, i think like you I'd rather take the hit and get it done, imagine a middle seat for 17 hours!Long time, but that’d be ideal. Just get on and get it done.
Can do without a 4 hour break stumbling around some airport half asleep, rather just get there.

17 hrs to Perth...but how long to get FROM Perth to the civilised portion of Australia.so, QF9 is less than an hour away from take off for a direct flight from Perth to London. Flight time is 17 hours 20 minutes.

Middle seat from Newcastle to Melbourne the other day (1.5 hours) was enough for me, think the planes used for domestic flights have even less room in cattle class.changi is sound, but hate dubai with a passion, i think like you I'd rather take the hit and get it done, imagine a middle seat for 17 hours!
Sydney to cairns, about 3 hours, the arriva buses have more space!Middle seat from Newcastle to Melbourne the other day (1.5 hours) was enough for me, think the planes used for domestic flights have even less room in cattle class.
Anyone ever managed to jag a free upgrade to business, I've asked a few times and got nothing more than a look of disdain lol
I'd be happy to pay an extra 200 every time for an upgrade, I'm about 6 foot 4 so being cramped in those spaces is awful.Sydney to cairns, about 3 hours, the arriva buses have more space!
Never had a free one, but I've gotten some cheap upgrades, around 200 to upgrade, emirates are good for it, I only do that when work is paying for the flight, so I'm only paying the upgrade fee and if its over 6hrs can claim 50% back, so it's worth it in those cases, makes some difference like

If I was just going to London, then maybe. But I go to Glasgow or Edinburgh when I visit the uk, so have to take another flight anyway. Would rather do a couple of 9 hour flights than one 17 hour followed by a one hour flightLong time, but that’d be ideal. Just get on and get it done.
