Looking at the first 5 games,it seems to me that Moyes is going for the attacking option for the first time in his 10 yr tenure....great to watch, but jesus!! It leaves us open at the back,I don't think me nerves can take it for a whole season!!!

We are open at the back cos we dont have a holding midfielder.

Hes playing the same system as he always has, it just looks better cos we have a right side for once in our lives.

Moyes has for the first time the attacking players to go for it. Same formation but diferent type of player to fill the Position. Long may it continue and let the good times roll.

I remember we did this a few years ago we battered villa away early on and lost one nil, when beckford was here. Moyes basicslly said we are going back to basics for results and changed it to uglier football. Now we have the classier technical players like mirallas and jelavic we are capable of some lovely football. Without bein biased, I would of been very impressed by us today as a neutral. To sum up: we are ****ing boss.

Some people really don't seem to get that....

The players we have dictate how moyes has us playing..

Sign of a good manager if u ask me because he seems to be able to get results both ways!

This. We are playing nice footie as we have in patches over the years. Mainly when we had Donovan in the team. Now we've got Mirallas who's like a younger version of Donovan. Not comparing them directly just that they are both fast, technically gifted and quite skillful players who are ideal for the right hand side. The main thing for me is the balance we get with a good player like them down the right.

I think that if someone came to any one of us at the end of last season and said: "Look. If you could be in a Champions League position after 5 games, just 2 points adrift of the tableleader and only met 1 team in the bottom third of the table. Would you take it?" I think almost all of us would have taken it.

Moyes has gone with a proper footballer in the middle of the park which has made a difference, whether it's Gibson or Osman, a passer or a ball player, it just makes a massive difference really. Fellaini obviously gives us the technically gifted upgrade on Cahill higher up the pitch. Too often we shunt our creativity outwide and just stop gap the midfield. It's always been my biggest criticism of Moyes. Yes, Neville's in there, and we can improve on that, but atleast he's playing alongside someone who can compliment him. The team just functions much better as a result of this.

Mirallas looks excellent and we haven't had a player like him for a long time. He's almost Ronaldo esque in style, good with the ball at his feet but also intelligent with his movement when he doesn't have the ball. He's got that electric pace to make the most of it aswell. I'm sure we'll learn more about him the more he plays but he looks very promising.

Is this style of football that we're playing is it only because of players we have? For example would we still play the same attractive football without Bainaar? Is it a style that we're teaching the youth teams (like Ajax or Barca do for their kids)? I for one am worried that if we lose a couple key members of the first team than we will be back to hoofball. I guess if we're lucky and get some money will be able to continue to buy players who fit our style and slowly we will be able to integrate this style into the club's set-up.

I'm getting way ahead of myself, aren't I?

I don't think its that simple mate.

We had some great teams over the last few years but started off the season playing crappy football with a mryiad of excuses given as to why.

And as certain teams proved last season, teams with worse players than us could play a better style of football than us, and that goes against what you're saying.

The reason why we've played different in the first and second half of seasons recently isn't as simple as being 1 or 2 players different. It helps of course but we've always had a good squad of players with options available who could play good effective football all through the season.

Look at the teams we had in the first half of 2010/2011 season. No way was the way we played with that team so dependant on the fact we didn't have Donovan or Jelavic. We easily had the team capable of playing the same football they had at the end of the previous season.

So yeah, better players available helps play better football but you can play good a good style of football with gash players and a gash style of football with good players.
