Athletic Bilbao/Bielsa

We have no Arteta-type like footballers. Bilbao has probably more than 5 guys like that. So, no chance..

Anyway, I was absolutely blown away by that Athletic today's perfomance, as I haven't seen them play under Bielsa. If there would be no Everton in this world, I would definetely love that club more than any other! Well, as I already liked Athletic for some years, I really can say Athletic is my 2nd favourite team on this planet.. That cantera policy is absolutely incredible..

Agreed. I have a soft spot for them simply based on their Cantera policy.

Managers adopt styles according to where they play and the resources available. In spain u r expected to pass the ball for ever - in england the crowd get on your back if the back 4 pass to each other for a bit or the midfield pass it backwards. their style would be unlikely to succeed in eng as they wouldn't be allowed the time on the ball

But Bielsa got Chile like that at the last World Cup didnt he.
He's enormous in Chile. He's seen as the man who gave them a style that's their own - and they beat Argentina.

In England we tend to think small players arent what we need and arent big enough to succeed but in Spain height counts for nothing if your technically gifted.
Just remember people wondering if Silva could handle the Premier League. Question's probably the other way round

Until the Sky 4 eventually get their way and form a European super league and English football descends into hell.

/bleach
I'd like to see the Sky 6 (with us sneaking in) Prem Saturday Euro Wednesdays Everton with a top squad.......well you can dream

Nahh..that's a myth. Arsenal's played the passing game under Wenger's reign with very good success I'd say.

Just watched Bilbao give Manyoo a footballing lesson in their own backyard from the first minute till the final whistle. With relative unknowns...Bielsa has managed to get Bilbao playing free flowing football in next to no time. How much Everton could do with a manager of Bielsa's know-how and experience.

This is the Bielsa who turned down Inter Milan because they didn't have the players to play the type of football he wanted?

And if Sneijder and Eto'o weren't what he was looking for why would he be aching to manage Neville and Anichebe?

We've got more chance of getting Guardiola.

Maybe he wanted to take over a young team like At. Bilbao as it is easier to influence younger players rather than older ones with big egos. Just a thought.

This and the fact that he'd given his word to the current Athletic president Josu Urrutia (before the elections at the club, that if Urrutia was elected, he would sign for Athletic
