We didn't let him go as such. He rejected a new contract offer. Don't know why he rejected it, can only comment on how reliable he was as a backup keeper. He was very good.

Yes, again too old , but I suspect he was used as a Keeper coach & overpaid ....

You are overthinking lads. Dyche just needs a second goalkeeper on the bench instead of Dixon, Armstrong or another snotty kid.

I also think he’s been brought back for coaching reasons.

Of course I appreciate that doesn’t jive with people’s desire to burn the club to the ground.

He did end up starting at QPR last year so I can only guess he wanted to actually play one more season before his career was over. Glad to have him back though, was always a solid backup for us and he seems like a great 3rd keeper to have around.

He now knows the full season as first choice is perhaps beyond him and he can also fill the GK coaching role. All the while being excellent reserve.
