"There have been prospective buyers but so far he hasn't been convinced that they are the right kind of people to protect Everton's heritage and future.
He refuses to lower his standards or abandon his principles.
I hope Kenwright's love for Everton continues. I hope my fears that the unscrupulous money-makers within the sordid world of football politics don't fester his football soul. People like Bill Kenwright are good for the game."

Now here's my problem with that: Robert Earl...the man so shady he had to change his own name...the man twice bankrupt...the man who sits on the Everton board by fronting a British Virgin Island finance vehicle.

Mind you, it's a piece by Jonathan Pearce...probably the biggest [Poor language removed] in the football media.

No mate, hes the master of smoke screen, hes an actor FFS, a very bad 1, but still an actor, words means feck all to me, actions speak louder.

Course he is, and its brought up he's no saint. But I thought it was a great piece about a lifelong fan who runs a historic club, bleeds blue, but seems like he's reaching his end.

Sad story IMO and how football is now days. If he had Abramovich's cash and was the same Bill, he'd be the best Chairman in the world to me. But he hasnt and has to make tough choices that are going to upset people.

He's a strange cat, full of smoke and mirrors, but I couldnt rip away the love he has for the club and what he has done.

(waits for all the bad [Poor language removed] he's left the club in to get mentioned)

I dont hate him, I admire what hes done, hes done some great things, but hes done some pretty shitty things, he, for me, has always had Evertons interests at heart, but hes holding on for too long now, hes holding on for his Kirkby pay off, kinda sticks in my throat to be honest.

He bought his share for less than £8m, hes invested not 1 penny into the Club. And he wants a fat payoff, some "fan".

But he is running a business. Just like buying everton fanzines for eg, they charge you but they're fans, they're getting something out of it.

I dont blame him from wanting a payoff. He doesnt get anything out of the club even though he hasnt put anything in. But other people have done the same thing and want something out of it.

I dont begrudge him wanting some cash.
