Anyone else heard reports about Arteta being in UK for 5+ years now and talking of the possibility he may be available for England?

I don't think he'd get a look in to be honest. There's a reason he isn't picked for Spain and it isn't because of where he plays. They have enough class in midfield to leave Fabregas on the bench don't forget. He's probably good enough to have won a few caps by now but by no means is he good enough to be a regular in their team.

I'm not really sure Arteta could play with England, i thing he played with Spain in the sub-21 team, if it's true he coldn't play with england.

Anyway, i think that when Artetais fit can be very interesting player for the England team, here in Spain there are many similar young players with a higher lever as Iniesta, Xabi....( remember Cesc Fabregar usually is in the bench).

For me would be great, i simpatize with the english team, and would be fantastic to see a basque (like me, i'm basque too) who plays in Everton defending the English shirt.

Arteta would give Spain something they lack. Technique, composure and quality. A traditional number 10 so to speak.

England lack players like that, only really Joe Cole who's anything like it. The likes of Lampard and Gerrard play at a high pace, that's not as effective at interntional football.

He wouldnt get into the England squad either. Too many star names, too many midfielders full stop to be honest.

And, controversial as it maybe, he's not in the Spanish squad because he plays for us - FACT in my eyes. Just look at Riera for the [Poor language removed] -- dropped from the national squad last year or so, moves to the [Poor language removed] and plays a few games, gets a call up. Coincidence?

Arteta has played a few year really well, and his level was suficient to be included in Spanish team.
Playing in our team to be honest is not an advantage because his actuation are less notorious for spanish people,in England the reputation of Arteta is much more better than here in Spain, anyway i think he should have played with Spain several times, but lately the level of the players of spain is really high and know is more dificult for him to be included in the team.
