The modern day football fan really is a clueless cretin who's that busy whinging that they forget to enjoy themselves and are so narcissistic that they think unless the club is ran precisely as they demand they're entitled to a hissy fit every other week.
Arsenal have cleaned up in the FA Cup the last few years and they've done alright in the modern era with 3 Premier League titles.Bunch of ungracious spoilt brats.I have no time for their protests.I really hope we overtake Arsenal in the next few years.Their supporters are well overdue a long awaited reality check and wake up call.
The thing is though, is it not hypercritical to label arsenal fans spoiled brats but then talk negatively about our former club runners? Bill did everything he could not to spend any money for years, literally for 2 years and stunted any chance we had as a club to really move on. Money vanished, transfer fees vanished basic rights were sold away for buttons to be outsourced and ultimately we were much worse off just trying to pay bills that was paying bills with the loan on loan scenarios.
So Arsenal. In the champions league for 20 years, won cups, generating a massive amount of money, stadium paid off, owned by billionaires, constantly in a title hunt every season for a fair bit. and yet, the manager gets hardly any money to spend in comparison, the club is a place anyone with any talent wants to leave at a seconds notice to join rivals, the manager has the same season every year, fall apart at the same time, get results in blocks at the same time etc. nothing changes (just like the moyes era here), so as a fan paying the most for a ticket or a pie, you want your money worth as a result. If i was paying 100 quid or whatever silly prices they have for a ticket to see my club, i would expect the players on the pitch to reflect that price at least.
Which lies the issue at Arsenal, the players don't justify the price. The lack of investment for so long now seperates the fans from their team because what it tells you is that nothing matters. It doesn't matter if the team has weaknesses, it doesn't matter they fall apart, it doesn't matter that they aren't playing with top stars, it doesn't matter on the manager if he continues to make the same mistakes he made 2-3 years ago etc So as a fan, why can you fully get behind that? If Wenger went out in the summer, spent over 100 million and brought in top players and actually went to have a go at competition then you could understand the fans getting onside. But another cheap window, more top stars leaving (sanchez) and the status quo being maintained means nobody outside of the stands cares about arsenal the same way the fans do. Hence why i wouldn't called them spoiled because FA cups are fine and dandy except it means nothing when you get dumped out the CL at the last 16 every year.
Remember these fans are paying twice as much (and more on top) than our fans and get served the same crap every year no matter what. Would you be happy paying 80/90 quid for a decent ticket knowing the same teams will beat you, you will finish in the same position most probably and your now star player will jump at the chance of joining a title chasing team at the end of it?
