I get the feeling that the 'New' Stadium has been soaking up their cash more than we might think
I dont think its that Degsy, they just seem to be content with getting a CL place each year and banking money, the board I mean bot the fans, quite a few times the last couple of years they could have made a real challenge for the title, but if it is the stadium thats at the root of it all it will be interesting to see how Spurs manage

I don't know why but for some reason I usually feel a mild sense of relief when they get a win and some of the pressure eases on old uncle Arsene.

He has just been there so long he is part of football fans lives.

...I suspect Wenger wields so much power and influence that he will decide when to go in much the same way as SAF. The infrastructure of that club in respect of how they paid for their ground must put them in a very strong position. I suggest they have under achieved so I don't think the successor will be under the same pressure as Moyes was at United.

Never forget it was LFC that played a massive part in the machinations and underhand dealings that saw Woolwich promoted to Div 1 after the war after finishing 5th in Div 2.

Two scummy clubs hand in hand.

Lesson to be learnt for us? We don't seem to be recognizing this if true we are selling Stones to Man City.

A bit different. We aren't in the same sphere as Man $ity. It would be the equivalence of us being in a race for 4th for the RS and then selling the RS Rom in Jan.

The 50M makes us better, and we replaced him with Williams whom I think if a better defender immediately. I also don't think Stones is all that great and even if stones becomes world class its still a ways off. That 25M Arse got went to ??????? and RVP was a top 5 striker in the world at that point.

Gooners are one of the few fanbases I don't really find too much fault with

whether that's down to a relative lack of exposure I don't know but the few I've met haven't been overly bellish
Before my time but seems like they were hit and miss for decades, post war to the George Graham side. Like they won cups (and a notable double) and had some strong sides but never sustained a period of dominance to get them thinking they were something special. So probably the old timers know how to take the rough with the smooth - and it's been extremely smooth for them in recent memory. The younger fans wear the mark of Ted, as you would expect.
