I expect they, the owners, are terrified looking at what happened to United post Fergie.

I am old enough to remember them as an occasional cup collecting club. Looks like that is what they have settled on, with a top 4 cash top up.

Nowt to add except I agree with @Bryan, he won't sign a contract extension till the end of the next season. Be interesting to see if how the players respond,do they go all out to give him a trophy goodbye or down tools like the City players did for Pellegrini.

Whatever happens something change next season, but can't guarantee it'll be a positive change.
 

He badly needs to go but someone needs to speak to him as a friend. They can't sack him - they'll be building a statue of him outside the ground in a few years [not as impressive as it might be, given that Tony Adams is cast in bronze down there, but Wenger will deserve it], so they need to nudge him upstairs somehow.
