JAYTALITY

Player Valuation: £30m
What did you lids make of it. I felt bad for wenger with them signs in the background all them trophies and years and they do him like that. Painful it was.

Proto-martinez. Talks pipe. Won stuff off the back of an already ace defence / steely will to win. Awesome at identifying talent, can't mould his own team.
imo the thing is he can, he just Martinez's it up a lot these days. Loads of great players have gone there with promise and excitement, just to be moulded into his rather boring style, that doesn't work that well anymore really.

They won stuff years after that back 4 was finished .

The Arsenal board were happy for him to help pay the new ground by settling for just CL football every year . They are the ones who lowered arsenals expectations .

If I was an Arsenal fan I'd want him out. Easy for fans of other teams to say "How can you complain you're in the CL every year" but after so long it must get boring finishing 4th every year. Same principle as us getting sick of Moyes after finishing 6th/7th every year.

Yeah but we had a "glass ceiling" to a degree, they can offer any player the wages, they can afford the fees and they can offer CL football.

True dat. So its even worse for them that Wenger hasn't managed a serious challenge on the league in the last 10 years.

And now we've got their man :pint2:

I reckon he's probably done about all he can do there. Probably shoulda moved on to a new challenge 5 or so years ago. Things get stale.

Moyes wore our his shelf life about 3 or 4 years before he left. The protests, well, for me are a bit cringey...but that's just me.

I think Wenger had done a job possibly no other manager in world football could have done while the stadium was being built, not sir slex, certainly not jose, he operated a champions league club on a profit, he has built far more than a football team that won a few trophies, he is the most inportant man in the clubs history since herbert chapman, maybe more important, is it time to move on, maybe it is, but whoever comes in after owes wenger a huge debt of gratitude, and wenger deserves far more credit than he gets

There were only what, three big clubs in England when Wenger first broke in and won titles? Chelsea wasn't rich yet, neither was City. It was Arsenal and United and sometimes the RS or Newcastle. Now there are 6-7 big (as in minted) clubs and he hasn't been up to the bigger challenge.

His big failing is that he dithers on signings and is all too quick to let great players leave. And not just leave, but leave to rival sides (Levy thankfully boots Bale and Mordric right out of the country). All he had to do was pony up the money for Ratface and they could be back to back champs right now.

I know he doesn't believe its right assemble a club on a pile of money they way ManU, Chelsea and City are and yes that's a admirable quality but welcome to real life Arsene.

He just has been In charge too long. Fans see other clubs going forward...they are stalling. My pal who is a Gunner thinks too that Wenger isnt good for the club anymore
