No if you read my post properly an old experienced plumber told me they used to use marmite short term if they had run out of white tape which has now been changed to brown tape with gas ......just as a stop gap -i hate marmite so I used white tape he claimed the difference on each tape was minimal ......a grate the cooker with its double oven is great my wife is made up with it , but not Argos......

So you ate white electrical tape instead of marmite ?

Just out interest, what does white electrical tape taste like ?

So if you run out of brown tape, you could, at a push, use white tape. Providing of course that you first stain it brown by soaking it in marmite.

White plumbing tape - Brown gas tape very similar other than colour.......
If it was to?long a joint you would not need to question me lol
