Are your kids active in sports?

I have 3 kids, two old enough to play organized sports. It is soccer (football) season right now, and we are at it 7 days a week. I'd like to say that this is a new phenomenon, but I remember playing soccer myself 4 days a week from ages 7-15.

I was discussing this with other parents this weekend, we're at the point where our kids' sports have completely taken over our lives. It's to the point where I have no free time (between the two kids, we have soccer 7 days a week and I coach my son's team). One parent moaned about this, I told her there's really nothing I'd rather be doing (most Everton matches I watch are DVR'd as I'm never home Saturday or Sunday mornings).

Are your kids' activities taking up your life? What have you given up? I would say quite a bit of couch potato-ing, which is good, and quite a bit of yard work and house maintenance, which is probably bad. We haven't even gotten into basketball, lacrosse and swimming seasons!

As a kid, I never really need my parents to organise my sports, like. I used to go out every night and have a kick around with my mates off our own bat.

They are out kickin a ball or on bikes/scooters whenever not doing the organised stuff, they can't play footy around here though as the council (or whoever's supposed to) never cut the grass short enough to be able to play, some parents actually cut and raked the pitch for 'cos Wigan Council hadn't cut them for the start of the season.
So playin footy on the local bit of grass is a past-time they rarely get to enjoy.

I take the 2 year old to football, his teacher is going to move him up into the 4 year olds class next term. I'm also going to sign him up for Rugby, swimming lessons and Ice hockey soon. Wife's not keen on Boxing. But I keep taking her.

My little girl does stage school, Ballet, swimming and charity fun runs like race for life etc.
