If I wasn’t so lazy I would be. I get so hyped up in the build up to Chrimbo that when it’s over I’m gutted. Every time I look at that stupid tree, I feel like it’s mocking me.

in my country, on the contrary, the Christmas tree is mainly put up only after Christmas and Boxing Day falls on the new year.
Christmas - just a holiday, when you don't have to go to work.
new year - great holiday, when you are gathering around the table, drinking alcohol, eating delicious food and exploding fireworks.

maybe they are afraid of tree starts falling apart or they are muslims

My wife is a dodgy foreigner who thinks it should stay up until February at earliest. Everyone who goes past my house mid January and sees the lights on must think I'm a lazy tramp. Can't take it down as that's Literally orthodox Christmas ffs.

Ours came down today, which is a bit soon I grant you.

There is a long held superstition that it is bad luck to keep your Christmas deccys up beyond 12th night which I think is the 5th Jan.

Same. Except I never took it out the box in the first place.

But, ironically, had a terrific Christmas Day anyrate. In some ways, the best ever. Most memorable one though.

I do have a green one as well. Bought the pink one for 50p at the parish Christmas Fair years ago. It is so gloriously tacky I love it.
