Are you addicted to the Internet?

  • Who me? You're kidding. Internet is just a tool I use occasionally when I'm bored

Simple question really.

How many of you spend far too much time online?

How many use the internet as their prime social activity?

Is the internet interfering with your life?

Relationship?
Sex life?
Time spent with family or friends?

Do you look forward to going online?

Do you stay online untill early hours in the morning?

Are you an addict?

Internet Addiction Test

The internet is gradually taking over my life, be it forums, general research, or online gaming.
Too much time spent in the kitchen on the computer, and not enough time doing what I feel I should be doing.

How about you guys?

Same here. Slowly losing the power of speech and my legs are going numb.

Voice recognition software and a wii fit should sort it though.

since ive been off work because of the weather id have to answer addicited no to much time spent on line yes

If it was taken away from you, so no more internet friends, no more forums, and no more gaming etc etc, would you have a big hole in your life?

I'm often accused of spending too much time online by the missus.

we're all accused of spending too much time doing whatever it is we're doing.
clearly it's a better option than finishing those unfinished things.
the last 3 weeks i've been out with the kids sledging etc when not working (most of the time), so if there's something else to do then i generally do, once they are all in bed though i come on here rather than watch tv.
i dont have it on my phone at all though.

The problem with the internet is it is a virtual reality.

You can read about anything you want.
You can buy anything you want.
You can control your bank account.
You can discuss anything you want.

Example:

You ask the wife, daughter friend etc about a subject.
They may or may not be able to discuss it with you. On the net, you can become engrossed in that subject for as long as you want.
Someone somewhere enjoys that subject too; in this case it's Everton and football.

Friends you make online are rel people.
Not just holograms or recordings created by a micro chip.

The very computer I'm typing on now was built for me, and delivered, by people I had never previously met in person before.

If I want to travel Europe, thanks to my contacts, I can do so virtually free of charge, as I've made friends in many countries over the years.

The internet is bringing the world closer.

Will it save the world, or one day destroy it though?

Deep stuff, save it I would say. As it is breaking down cultural barriers and is bringing the world...well closer. Think about it 40 years ago the only way you could get a message to another country is through air mail. Now I could be a couple of clicks away from talking to a guy in Australia, Iran, America or Japan. Communication is the key to peace my friend.
