Are We Regressing or have we just plateaued?

This is a serious most (and yes I'm new) but would still like peoples opinions.

So do you honestly think that selling our best player and the one of europe's best strikers to a team who finished one place above us in the premier league and taking one of their rejects is moving forward?

Yes, we have improved our goal-keeper but he's not exactly Gigi Buffon. He is a young prospect.
Michael Keane is another decent player but wouldn't exactly walk into any other team above us (would probably make their bench)

• Is Davy Klaassen really that much better than Ross Barkley?
• Is taking another reject from one of our "rivals" in Olivier Giroud really going to strike fear into the teams above us?

I think we need to take our rose tinted glasses and hope we can actually do something that will help us improve.

Teams aren't about one man. Look at Leicester, a real team effort, no stars, no egos, and they one the league with graft and working for each other. Get the right mix and you can still achieve

Utd being just one place above us neither here nor there. They're one of the biggest clubs in the world and they have CL football. They'll be offering mega wages and there are very few players in the world who would turn them down. Don't get too hung up on that one.

As for Pickford/Keane/Klaassen - we don't know for certain yet - but you'd be very hard pushed to argue that they won't improve us as a squad and likely as a team.

Our spending isn't done yet so don't panic.
