Just thought I would checkout Evertons page on Facebook for the first time in a long while and noted that our official page has over 2 million likes now. This is usually a reliable way of measuring fan base and popularity as the RS and Man U are light years ahead of any other English club on likes. But compared with over 7 million for Tottenham ,I mean five million more than us ! I feel we are either not as popular support wise as the club would like us to believe with its frequent quotes of a "massive fanbase" or our fans are just not that into social networking. What do other fans make of these stats or club size where do we sit in the pecking order, I would suggest about 8th biggest club just now.

We are massive mate and Facebook is no guide to seeing if a club is massive. 90% of Facebook users post pics of what they have cooked for tea ffs

Edit : since when was Facebook a reliable place to see if a club is massive btw?
I was mainly going on fanbase and was surprised that Spurs had more than 3 times the likes than us given each clubs history. It must have some reliability as I quoted the usual two are the most popular.

We are a big club but we are a long way away from the elite at present, and have been for 20 years now. Investment will be required to progress, otherwise we are operating at the same level as Sunderland, Newcastle and Villa, we have just been spending our money a lot better than they have over the past 10 years.

Goes to show that most rs and man u fans are women, as they are the ones who use facebook most in my experience.

Also - Everton fans have some of the best online forums to use - such as this one (even though @The Esk closed my last thread - the pesky little blighter!!) so we don't need to use snooping spying facebook.

Also when the new stadium is built where is our waiting list for season tickets? We ain't going to get another 15000 walk up fans to every home game. Even s*** like West Ham have sold out of season tickets for the Olympic stadium.
