Are Evertonian Players Important?

Evertonized

Player Valuation: £1m
Hi Everyone

With the rumours of Callum McManaman circulating, I thought this would be a good chance to create a discussion about Evertonian players.

How important is it to have a player / players who supported Everton and is a true blue - in the team?

I must admit, I've always thought there was a difference between players such as Leon Osman, Tony Hibbert, Gary Speed, Alan Stubbs, David Unsworth etc... than foreign players or supporters of other clubs.

So, would Everton be worse off without players who actually support us? With Hibbert and Osman on the verge of retirement or being sent to the pit of no return, would it really matter if we didn't have Evertonian's within our team (excluding Ross Barkley).

It'd be great if we had a team of 11 blues who all loved the club.

I'd rather have a team that wins trophies whether they've even heard of us prior to signing or not.

No its not important, which great players have been Evertonians before they played for us?

Besides some of our best players down the years have been from a kopite background, such as Peter Reid.

It's great when our players are Evertonians and love the club as much as we do..

It does matter, but I'd rather it be Rooney on the Pitch and whatever the latest WWF wrestler off the pitch to batter them when we play like dope's

It's a nice bonus if they're Blues, but that's all. All other things being equal I'd take a Blue over a non-Blue but things are never that equal.
Plenty of players have come here without any allegiance to the club and they're now Evertonians to the core.
