Are Everton FC known to be a soft touch in the game?

How do we compare to other clubs? Is there anyone else who is still paying managers they sacked? Or players that have transferred? Or paid over the odds for a player?
Aren't Man Utd still paying Rooney 200k a week or something?

I think if you dig just a little bit deeper, you may find that those things are very common in football across all teams.
I would be interested in what you find.

It’s interesting that , when it comes to buying youngsters we are seen as a decent club that negotiates well and undoubtedly we pay over the odds for most young players compared to others. The RS are notorious for this e.g. Danny Imgs and Solanke where they let the fee be decided by a tribunal . I’ve no idea what they went for eventually , but it’s always way under the odds. Chelsea did the same when they got young defenderEthan Ampadu from Exeter, the tribunal said they’d have to pay “ up to £2.5 million” and Exeter are seriously disappointed for a player who will star for Wales in the next few years. By contrast we are supposedly paying Newcastle “ up to £6 mill” for young defender Lewis Gibson and apparently £4mill for the highly rated but unknown youngster Josh Bowler.
So for our youngsters I’m not sure if we are a soft touch , sometimes naive in our transfer dealings or just seen as being a decent club doing the right thing.

Yeah but Liverpool ended up paying £8m for 2 goal-in-50000-appearances, Danny Ings.
