apparently some club or other has got an extension on some planning issue

at the risk of disclosing my woolitic tendencies, i have never been to the tin mine. have they really only demolished four houses in three years (which is what google earth suggests was on the site), and are pretending this constitutes sufficient "work" for the planning permission to remain in force?
