Definitely something where, to get any of the prime gigs, you either have to "know" people, have a wealthy financier or 5-10 PhD's in everything from science to art...otherwise you're digging holes on blind faith or educated assumption. But, then again...that's how many made their name in the field.
 


I can't believe I wasn't picked apart for my link which actually has to do with paleontology, not archaeology. I figured "what the hell", it's all dirt, little brushes, bi-focals, safari hats and bandanas anyhow. Quite enjoy it though...6 years of National Geographic subscriptions and counting.
 
Saw something in the news today about a find in the old Troy in Turkey or where it was supposed to have been. Apparently a man and woman buried near a wall.
