Sounds like an iPhone 4, depending on the baseband of the modem it can be unlocked via a unlock using a jailbreak, do you know how to do this?

Its a lovely phone - I'm just messing with it now - I have no interest in Iphones, but my wife likes texting to England and stuff and I know she'd enjoy it. Be cool to get it up and running. No writing on the interface at all - blank except for a tiny box at the bottom.

Sorry, I am a self-confessed moron when it comes to phones and stuff. Its not really my thing. I have an old Sony mobile from 2007 and am happpy with that - wife likes the newer stuff and would be chuffed if we could get this phone working.
