Happy ANZAC Day, Blues.

Bit of a strange ANZAC morning with of course all remembrance services throughout the country cancelled.

Went for a stroll before 6am this morning to where an ex-Army Band musician who lives in the local neighbourhood said he was going to play Last Post and Reveille on his bugle, before that a Karakia (Maori Blessing) was read out, along with the Ode of Remembrance and the Lord's Prayer. Nice little turnout, about twenty of us listening and paying our respects, all following social distancing rules of course.

So many in the neighbourhood had made makeshift poppies and crosses everywhere on their front lawns and windows, was brilliant to see.

My Great-Grandmother had nine kids, seven boys, six of whom served overseas during the war, three Great Uncles killed, one at El Alamein in 1942, one on an Italian POW ship sadly torpedoed and sunk by a British sub, one at Monte Cassino in 1944.

Put's having to stay at home and watch Netflix, Sky and Everton replays in perspective.

Take care Blues and love to all x
