MG admitted he was an A-hole

And according to LCAB we're gonna sign Heitinga.

Newcastle United apparently want to take James Vaughan to Sid James' Park on loan.

The young Everton striker finds himself fourth choice striker behind Yakubu, Louis Saha and Jo.

Vaughan broke onto the scene in 2005 becoming Everton's youngest ever goalscorer, but injuries have hindered his progress significantly.

Straight up MG ?

If true, that's a very interesting option for JV, though I'm not sure I'd want him involved in all the politics surrounding that club at the moment.

Newcastle caretaker boss Chris Hughton pursues Everton striker - MirrorFootball.co.uk

Newcastle United boss Chris Hughton wants Everton striker James Vaughan to lead his side's promotion charge after reeling from the loss of in-form Shola Ameobi.

Hughton has asked Goodison chief David Moyes to let him have the powerful young forward on loan to take over from Ameobi and go into his high-flying Championship side for Monday's match with Leicester.

Vaughan has tumbled down the pecking order at Everton and is itching for first-team action. He is still in the books as the club's youngest-ever goalscorer but his career has stood still lately.

The young forward would be keen on joining the Toon Army and Moyes will give a decision over the weekend. Hughton is willing to wait for an answer , but he also has other targets.

Target: John Heitinga

Everton have agreed a £5m fee with Atletico Madrid for Holland utility player John Heitinga.
Boss David Moyes has sealed the £5m capture of Portsmouth's Sylvain Distin, and Heitinga, who can also anchor midfield, will join if terms can be agreed.
But Moyes' bid for Valencia midfielder Ever Banega has hit a hitch because his club cannot find a replacement.
Elsewhere, Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has stepped up his bid to sign Rapid Vienna's giant Austria striker Stefan Maierhofer on loan. Red Star Belgrade and Ecuador midfielder Segundo Castillo is also a loan target.
Newcastle have asked about Blackburn defender Zurab Khizanishvili, 27, amid fears they may lose Steven Taylor to Aston Villa. Mike Ashley had warned Chris Hughton to expect no new signings, despite the losses of Shola Ameobi (foot) and Jonas Gutierrez (hamstring) for at least a month.

Well I'll be damned

How do you lads feel about this?

Newcastle don't need Vaughan, they have the players and the capabilities to get promoted at the first attempt without taking any of our players, but if James is interested in a move then fine.

Ameobi is a fine striker and once he finds his feet agan expect the Tyneside outfit and near neighbors Boro' to be making trips to Goodison next season.

As regarding anything happening, nothing significant apart from,

Transfer Rumors, draw for the group stages of the UEFA cup, (Benfica included) ex-player Jeffers kicked out of Sheffield , a bit stale but whos' counting, and me putting £20 on a home victory with Ladbrokes for the Wigan clash. Oh and Lescott (WHO? he he) having a poor game in his first City game with Crystal Palace. "run ragged by teenagers" apparently in one publication.

Ameobi has been on fire in the Champ, but hes just picked up an injury, as have a few other players, they are very short of strikers at the moment.

And I watched most of the City game, I thought Lescott played quite well. Bit shaky at the back at times City, but thats part of the gelling process.
