We tend not to do too well when we're "expected" to win.
Look at our results this season. Aston Villa and Swansea games were both excellent results. Were we really expected to go there and win? Sure, we should have been aiming to but we were hardly what I'd call clear favourites. But we went there and smashed them both. Man Utd - deserved win whilst being underdogs.
Then look at our results vs QPR, Reading and Wigan. Indeed Sunderland - who hadn't scored in numerous games - not only took the lead against us but probably should have been further ahead before we finally got the win, and a big win it was.
We have a recurring problem when it comes to games we "should" be winning. We tend to make it an awful lot of hard work.
Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased with where we're at currently. If you'd given me 20 points from 12 games I'd have taken it but it's once again the classic "well our performances have deserved more". I think there is some sort of mental issue with us when we have games - like Norwich on Saturday - where everyone seems to be predicting a clear Everton win. More often than not it doesn't work out like that.
