Just wondering as im on it alot its the most addictive game ive played!!!! Im usually on the ukcs servers my UN is necromonger

Man, I played WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY back in the day. Although my preferred mod was Day of Defeat. I spent a good couple of hours on those two mods.

But not in a while, the hackers really made the game 'un-fun' to play, so I stopped.

Same here. I actually got really lucky that I have the game - Back in the day my friend bought HL2, he bought a DVD version and his CD-ROM couldn't read it, so he lent it to me... Both of us didn't have much idea about Steam except that it was really annoying and I ended up registering the game under my own username

The game's still by far the most popular FPS game on PC. CSS and CS both have on average, double the amount of players as Call of Duty. It's incredible that such an old school and simple game is still well and truly alive.

It's a great game.

But, because it's so old, the regular players are incredibly good at it. If you're new to CSS, expect to be completely obliterated at the start.

However I love some of the crazy servers it has. There's zombie ones, in which one team plays as humans, the other as zombies, and the zombies try to infect the humans by killing them. There's also one... I forget the name of the server, but it's like a giant game of Takeshi's castle. 3 people have to try and flick these switches which release various death traps, whilst the other players have to navigate the rather difficult courses. And to make it even more awesome, the switch people play as the T2 from Terminator, and the normal people play as bananas

My brother used to play TFC. He was really good at it, in one of the top 10 clans in the UK and waaaaaaayy better than I would ever be. I logged into their server once and watched them practice! That is how serious about it they were. Mental.

Have to say i havent played CS in years mainly becuase i was utterly woeful then i discover the wonderful world of MMO's first with Star Wars galaxies then with my current home Everquest 2 it more than sates my online pc gaming habit

Got them both battlefield is a good game but still not as addictive as counter strike source i find i have a ping of 150 at best of times and its jumpy while with css i have a ping of around 8 and it runs like a dream
