So ironically, over the years, GOT has been one of the few places online I actually open up about stuff. I generally swerve posting anything too personal on FB etc. But this place has always been kind of a safe haven. So here goes.
I'm really struggling atm. There's a lot of factors coming into play at once:
A few months ago, I smashed my car up and it was so old I didn't have replacement insurance (it wasn't worth much other than it drove me places), so I've been without transport since. Luckily I live in a neighborhood where everything I need is walking distance. But I can't even just get in the car and drive to get away or go anywhere that isn't walking distance without paying a fortune for Uber etc.
Obviously, Covid has limited social interaction to the point where I don't really have any other than the clerk at the store. It's been bearable up until recently where it's felt less so.
As some of you old-timers know, I married a Brazilian woman about 2.5 years ago. She's still there. Without getting into the politics of Immigration here in the US, let's just say it's not been the best time to do this over the last few years. So we're separated and have been. Normally I would be there, but with Covid and some financial limitations, I'm home. Alone.
I'll be ok. I just needed to say it out loud. And if anyone else is feeling isolated right now, I'm with you.
