Anyone been to Bratislava ?

The wife went, said it was pretty grim. Handy for getting to Vienna though.

Drove through it on way to Vienna stopping only to look at the football grounds.

Went with four mates as part of a trip around Europe. Was a great place to visit but lots of shady looking people!

Stayed there when we played in Vienna a few pre seasons ago. Great for a piss up and nightlife. The women were amazing aswel.

Been a few times, the most recent being 3 weeks ago for the England game.

Decent enough, but not on a par with other gems of central/Eastern Europe (Budapest, Kyiv, Prague etc).

Locals not the friendliest but OK for a few days .met a few Everton lads at the red lion pub for Sunderland game last week

Would you recommend Budapest over Bratislava, one of the pluses for it was a day trip to Vienna.

I would. Went on a 5 day trip earlier this year, flew Manchester to Budapest, stayed there 3 nights, train to Vienna for 1 overnight & then train to Bratislava for 1 overnight then flew back to L'pool.

Budapest was the best by far of the 3 cities- cheaper than Vienna to eat & drink & a great city to walk around, friendly people etc.

Bratislava has a old centr which is a bit touristy & the other part of town which is a bit grim in the time we spent having a walk around it,

Thanks for that, I'm going somewhere for a city break definitely consider Budapest
