And what about regular people who think we shouldn't be spending millions of pounds on waterparks or setting up a Bangladesh version of Question Time ? Twenty million pounds of the foreign aid budget went to Iceland last year, hardly lots of starving Africans there I'd imagine.

so thats the only area of the budget that can be attacked, and spent more appropritely

Flooded where I am, town is right next to the river. It's quite glorious and peaceful really. No cars about at all.

Wish it was like this all the time.

kind of destroys my own argument, but just got an email off the red cross, saying this is the first winter in years were they've had to increase the percentage of funding towards poverty in the UK, interesting all the same though. Apparently many local residents made the goverment well aware that the rivers would need dredging, but they were ignored

I live on the hereford/worcester border and all the rivers have burst their banks turning the counties fields into oceans - Worcester has virtually closed because the city bridge over the river severn can't be reached!

Motorways are alright though which makes my daily jaunt to Brum okey dokey.

Never buy property within 100yds of water.
