my neighbour's got family affected and it sounds terrible tbh, Nigel Farage was spot on yesterday we have a £12 billion a year foreign aid budget yet we have been lacklustre with the help to our own people affected, Our Government doesn't give a damn about its own people.

Its worse than that Dave. They do care, but give cash to useless civil servants and govt agencies to spend.

The laughable "job" done by the various depts in Somerset is beyond parody. And after 6 weeks under water, they, the agencies that is, still think they have done nothing wrong. Which in their box ticking, endless meetings world they inhabit, they actually believe.

I think you are being a bit unfair. For the sake of balance we should point out that within these agencies all verifiable outcome targets were met and, in some cases, even exceeded.

If there is a risk of flooding then each council should be prepared. In this day and age it is not good enough that flooding is such an issue. the fact that the country is prone to heavy rain should be a clear give away to any risks but i can guarantee there is a lot of money being thrown away on nothing. And they have the cheek to ask you to pay more council tax!

It is like the bloody hosepipe ban. Oh my god we are running short on water in the summer, ban people using hosepipes, EVERY YEAR.
