If I've ever had an injury like that, it's usually because I've pulled something and that the muscle and bones aren't in sync.

A couple visits to my chiropracter and it's sorted.

Codeine based pain killers do work, but are very addictive! Speaking from experience here. Was prescribed them back when I was 19 (1996) and have only just (last Oct) stopped taking them and that was one of the hardest things I have ever done coming off them!

Ha ha no he's old and scottish. He said time's the only healer, and if it gets bad try a hot water bottle as well as the pain killers. Its feeling much more comfortable now, for the time being anyway. Thanks all!

Seriously now. I have an alcohol related injury from a while back - i fell awkwardly and managed to pull and twist the muscles down my left rib cage - so my gp said. So she gave me painkillers which i RARELY take. It was much better and i barely felt it, until this morning. Now i'm in agony when i move, cough, sneeze etc.. and i've taken painkillers. How can i make it better?

Drink lots of water, the Doctor told me it makes tissue and muscle swell which stops pain. like a cushion between joints i think?.

I drink about 4L of water a day, and no more bad back.

fingers crossed on a quick recovery hayee!!.
