Antoine Griezmann...

Sorry Brucey, I reckon he is undeniably one of the best in the world right now and actually shows signs of continual improvement. Still young too.

He was excellent at Real Sociedad before his big move too. For the cup games at Camp Nou when there's not much of a crowd you can wander about to different parts of the ground. Watched most of Barça V Real Sociedad right by the touchline a couple of seasons back and as amazing as it was to see the technique of Messi, Iniesta and Alexis up close, Griezmann also stood out a mile and didn't look out of place in that company.

I don't doubt he's a decent player, but at Sociedad he averaged a goal every four games, and at Atletico he's by and large one every other game. He had a fantastic season last year, both with Atletico and France, but he hasn't hit the same heights in the league this season. For that kind of money I'd want him getting the kind of goals he scored last year every year. Compare him with Lewandowski, for instance, and he's nowhere near that level, yet he's attracting world record transfer fees? Sorry, but no.

Think you are way off. He got 25 or so in his first season at Atleti and over 30 last season. Many commentators would have placed him just behind Messi and Ronaldo at some points over the last couple of years.

He gets moved about that front line plenty and comes deep for possession. Getting better and better at creating.

Lewandowski is an out and out striker and one of the best at leading the line and linking play up top. Griezmann is not the same type of player. It's to Simeones credit that he has developed him further as an all round player at the same time as drawing a real killer instinct from him when in front of goal.

Just 25 too. In the crazy market nowadays I think he would go for 100m.

United are desperate (and rich) enough to pay it, but I can't see him helping them that much to be honest. They've already spent vast quantities to basically stand still.
