don't you mean yaya is starting to play the role more like fellaini? ;) i love fella think hes absolute boss, definately one of the 5 best midfielders in the league. Prefer him at DM, but with gibson sitting back he has been able to get forward more often which is great coz he is a boss box-to-box. He tends to give the ball away a tad bit more in the ACM position (obviously), don't think he's good enough to play threaded balls through to the striker to play in that position all the time though. We must keep him this summer, terrific talent

Hahaha good point, he's been exceptional in this position and it allows us to push much higher up the pitch, therefore the opposition carry less of a threat and we spend more time in their half than our own.

Yeah, this is what I wanted to say. Have some cred for saying it first :D

Haha cheers, you can see why Moyes does it though, both very similar players in stature and ability.

Prefer him as a cm alongside Gibson. Saying that against utd and Newcastle he has played very well in ACM.

As said he can't really cross and not the best finisher and doesn't really score goals out of nothing... What he does do is show the absolute necessity of having a player there who can get on the ball and link up with others and get little passing moves going.

Hopefully Barkley can do that and maybe add goals too. Or better still add Dempsey to play there!

Perhaps our late season succes and certianly yesterdays win are built on the ability to play the ball on the floor, passing it around the opposition. This has become possible because of the return of Pienaar, the emergence of Johnny at CB and the ability of Felli playing further up the park. Pre Xmas our solution was hoofball. when Felli played support striker 2 seasons ago it did not work.
So in terms of keeping Felli there- why not, providing we keep Pienaar and buy another passer for RM. BTW whenever Barkley plays he seems to be full of these short passing triangles and one touch flicks on to players. I am concerned why he does not figure more at RM. Maybe becasue we are not super solid at RB?
