...Fellaini in the support striker role yesterday?

MOTM by all accounts, hopefully the shape of things to come. Would certainly beat waiting around for another Jelavic type signing. Will mean a full replacement defensive mid will be required, but they are more easily found than capable attackers.

Mo-Fro and Jello front two. Get on it.

I've said in the past that we should keep Felli at DM as it is his strongest position. But recently he has been outstanding behind the striker, I just don't know what to believe!

Yes was awesome again......not sure if support striker is his preferred role though....but it has worked..fair play to the lad.

Should be played as a box-box midfielder....Gibson sitting and a playmaker just in front.

I suggest Rodwell in the advanced role until Barkley can step up.

He has always played that role for Belgium and been good in it, so it's really no surprise that it is working now that the forward in front of him has such great movement as Jelavic does.

As I posted elsewhere on the forum yesterday I think Moyes plans to keep Fellaini there, which means that Gibson will play central mid with Rodwell. Pienaar will come back, which leaves the RM slot open. I really hope he goes after James Morrison if money is available. Coleman needs to get the RB slot, and Osman, Cahill and Barkley will keep competition for places.

The only thing is, Rodwell looks very good in the advanced role BUT a bit soft in the central position,...

He is absolutely boss, I think he can literally do anything. 11 Fellainis would probably be a decent team. (Not sure if he is cat in goal)

I actually think he looked better breaking from deeper midfield, when someone covered the defensive midfield. Gibson will do that now.

keep him as a DM, thats his position

not good enough to play AM, shooting or crossing isnt good enough and he isnt mobile enough, dont try and make him something he isnt.

How do you think he played against Utd and Newcastle mate?

He's playing more and more like the role Yaya Toure does for Man City, and long may it continue.

don't you mean yaya is starting to play the role more like fellaini? ;) i love fella think hes absolute boss, definately one of the 5 best midfielders in the league. Prefer him at DM, but with gibson sitting back he has been able to get forward more often which is great coz he is a boss box-to-box. He tends to give the ball away a tad bit more in the ACM position (obviously), don't think he's good enough to play threaded balls through to the striker to play in that position all the time though. We must keep him this summer, terrific talent
