Since the last four threads dedicated to anime & manga are now locked I thought I'd make a new one.

Dragon Ball Super episode 130 aired yesterday, the penultimate episode of the series. What's amazing about it is that there were a number sites across South America (where Dragon Ball is HUGE) were the episode was aired on big screens in the streets and bars where hundreds of people turned up to watch it. Anything like this ever happened for an anime series before outside of Japan?

I rewatched Akira the other day for the first time in ages, it's still an amazing film. Can't believe it's 30 years old.

I've watched a fair bit of anime, Netflix have got a pretty good selection, but I've never watched any Dragon Ball, @Toffe3m4n. Is it a bunch of teenagers with superpowers shouting at each other and just when it looks like they're gonna lose they discover a new even more super power?

Ha, pretty much describes every shounen anime ever that lol but yes, Dragon Ball is considered one of the forefathers of that genre (although very few of the characters are actually 'teenagers' like a lot of the newer shows have).

Death Note is amazing.

My Hero Academy is also great, season 3 is due to release in coming months.

Dragon Ball super, and all dragon ball for that matter, is brilliant.

Just finished Attack on Titan season 2 on crunchyroll (couldn't find it on Netflix yet). Enjoyed it, but it's taken a odd path from the first season.

Decided to rewatch Samurai Champloo again while I waited for something new. Awesome show
